Return to the classic era! This complete standalone collection contains everything you need for a full adventure.

Heroes and villains, monsters, NPCs, soldiers, a royal family... and all sorts of quirky weirdos!

Tiles and objects are included for a variety of classic RPG locations-- create a full interactive world with this unique 8-bit-inspired art style.

  • Complete set of environment tiles: make forests, villages, caves and more!
  • 20 character sprites with full four-direction walking animations
  • 64 additional character sprites with 3-frame idle animations
  • Every character has a color variant: Over 170 characters total!
  • Animated objects: Flames, Doors, Treasure Chests, Traps and Spikes
  • BONUS SHEET: Village, homes, and tower tiles for overworld maps
  • BONUS SHEET: Window-skin asset for message box and menus

Everything is organized in a format that can easily be used in RPG Maker-- but also includes a master sheet with everything on it. You are welcome to use these graphics in any engine of your choice!

How to best use the tiles:

Note that the terrain-layer tiles are made up of 8x8 tiles, intended to be placed in a semi-random pattern to create texture. To maximize the style of this tileset, I recommend making the terrain using an 8x8 grid and then an upper-layer with objects and collision using a 16x16 grid. When combined together, this creates an appealing and unique style. You can see how this looks in my example screenshots.

This is a great pack. Its like somewhere in between NES and SNES style. Love it!

Hello!
Can I use them in a commercial project? Can I change their color?

Yes, that's fine! Have fun :)

Thank you!

how do we use the 3 frame characters in rpg maker

You can set them to "stepping" and also "direction fix" so they don't change when the player talks to them. They're meant to stand in place with a simple animation loop.

Set looks amazing! - Would you by chance have basic 8-bit sideview attack animations planned for the future?!

Not planning any specific expansions just yet, but it's certainly likely that I will return to the style-- it depends on interest from patrons. Thanks!

I liked these assets so much that in a couple of days I put together a small game using them.

I'm not sure how appropriate it is to write here, but here is the link -Twilight Guardian.

Considering how long you have been supporting and developing Time Fantasy, I am sure that these assets will have a great future with a bunch of additions.

Wow, love the art style. Your omega assets are my fav but this looks right up my alley and it already has me thinking about game ideas. Also, I know it's a long shot but do you have any advice for doing this style of pixel art? I'd like to make some more enemies and dungeon decor but my pixel art skills are still quite novice.

Hard to say-- that's really general! imo it would be useful to learn about important pixel topics such as contrast and clusters. Thanks!

That's my bad, I can't realistically expect you to give a long winded comment about copying your style. I appreciate the reply nonetheless and will tinker with the artstyle in asperite until I can emulate something similar for adding more monsters and whatnot to the assets.

This is style is dope, yo

I know it's probably early to ask for this, but will there be more packs in this exact style in the future? I really like it.

Thanks! If there's future expansions it depends entirely on if there's demand from patrons/customers. :)

If you're checking for interest, I would loooove another pack in this exact style. I'm using this pack on a little project I'm working on, I love the style.

thanks! :)
