I love the artstyle, the sound design is good and the level design is polished and well thought. Awesome game! :D

Absolute beautiful piece of art

The atmosphere with pixel art, shiny effects, shadowy enemies and music was really nice.
I like the fact that you don't just take items, but brew potions to power them up, which makes it exciting from the time you take the materials to the time you go home.
In short, this was a lot of fun!

Great game, Very challenging with fun mechanics. Very developed and left me wantign more gameplay. Incredibly well done!

An extremely solid foundation for a Metroidvania. With some of the most beautiful pixel art I've ever seen.

The game just throws you in with no explanation at all. GO WANDER, EXPLORE! Normally that's a bad thing in gaming but when your game is so well designed that it's intuitive enough for the player to learn it themselves without needing to be taught then you know you've got yourself a great design.

Concepts are drip fed and introduced slowly and very well, players are given plenty of time to understand the goal of the screen and just when you think you know everything a new concept or ability is added which ups the stakes further. The progression is perfect.

By the end of the game I was juggling double jumping, wall climbing and switching lantern states to avoid the 2 wolves who wanted to get inside me! It was hectic but in a good way. The only major issue I had was the wall-climb auto-sticking to walls when I didn't want it to. But it didn't hold me back that much.

As I mentioned at the start the pixel art is beautiful, not a pixel out of place everything shines with character style and readability from the well animated character to the clearly communicated platforms and enemies. The ui and crafting screen is simple but stylish at no point was I ever confused about where to go or what anything did.

The audio is great the increasing "tone" of the wolves getting closer/further away is a nice touch and the SFX (especially picking stuff up) felt nice. I'd love to see more of this game in the future especially if we're going to get some sort of narrative/story to wrap it in. That was probably the only thing missing that I would have liked. Without it though the game still shines in all areas and was an absolute joy to play.

This is an amazing game and I really hope you make a full release on Steam! I love the music and animations, the lighting, everything. I especially liked how you made your GDD into an idea board more than a pitch document.

i can think of multiple ways to implement this game, this is a good demo of a game and i am very inspired because of you, continue like this.

Wow that was a fantastic game! I loved the puzzles and movement, very impressive for only 2 weeks worth of work!
Really felt like a full game despite it only being a few puzzles, great progression.

Only thing I would have liked is if the map showed you what you had already picked up, or maybe let you mark off where you had been or something.

Great game, loved it!

What an amazing game ! I love the atmosphere and the character's movement is great. Bravo !!

Wow. Amazing.

I really think this is a strong contender for winner. The visuals are nice, the ideas are well-executed, and the sound effects are satisfying.

The gameplay is definitely well thought-out and seems fairly easy to expand on in the future!

10/10

Yo! This game is fun!!! I'm was playing on keyboard until I got to some of hte end game levels with the double dragons and could not proceed until I hooked up a controller.

The game is beautiful. The music is very fitting. There could be more polish on the areas with the shadow dragon head as far as the music goes. I could see the music changing pitch down when the lantern is off to make the looming threat seem more scary. :D But that's not a slight against the team for the game jam. You have a solid game. (I wrote this bit before I saw the double dragons, so maybe change pitches for each? idk, may not work)

I enjoyed adventuring through the levels. The path to get to the feather was a challenge I really enjoyed! I died so many times in the later levels, but that's a skill issue on my part. But starting over at the start of the area, which made it feel fun and not tedious. Casual adventure puzzle platformer comes to mind. This could be changed if you wanted to have a game mode that was more challenging by reseting back to a save point. :)

I actually enjoyed the lack of enemies in early levels. It made it feel like a puzzle platformer and nothing like a hack & slash adventure. I would buy this game.

Add a bit of story to it, add more levels, and some NPCs  to help along the way and build the lore of the world, a reason to get the potions made to continue adventuring instead of simply finding ingredients. Simply finding ingredients too is also good.

Very cute game, very enjoyable! I hope to see it on steam!

It's fantastic! Good implementation of themes, especially the shadows. I like this concept you made. But it's so polished and beautiful one! Looks like the released version of small but well done game!

The animations is funny and nice for the character as his SFX. The graphics are pleasing as the sounds and music, I like it. The level design is especially nice with the game mechanics you created.

10/10 :)

this is visually stunning oh my god

Pixelart is awesome, MC is very cute, gameplay is challenging yet very interesting. Awesome game!

I am impressed.

Arstyle, sound design, and overall gameplay is really good. I would like to play a full release of this. Good job!

I LOVE THE SOUND DESIGN! The entire aura of the game synergizes super nicely between the sfx, music, and artstyle! The game also feels really nice to play as a platformer! Best of luck and good work!

This is a really awesome game. I love how detailed and vibrant the pixel art is. Also the platforming mechanics were really clever! Great job!

The sounds design was really nice , especially the "you can't build a platform around yourself noise" that reminded me of my childhood. The controls were a little awkward on the keyboard though. Played the whole thing and that was 40 minutes well spent. Glad you cut the fuel mechanic for the lantern, btw.

This game is really great and polished for the short time you had! I could definitely see this being expanded to a full metroidvania-style game. Keep up the good work

Really fun and polished game, bravo! 👏 Love the lantern mechanic and unlocking new mechanics through brewing potions!

so amazing! very good job! i love the shadow creature xD

Absolutely love the effort youve put into this! Its incredibly polished! The lighting is beautiful! Well done!

This is a great well polished game, you'll be in the top for sure!

awesome like the responsiveness and game feel, a bit of sound adjustment but rlly nice

Amazing game, really well done.

My only comment, in my opinion, the character feels a little heavy when jumping, although the balance is amazingly on point.

Great job!

Really awesome. Hope we can get a steam release or something one day

Polished controls, flushed out mechanics, planned out exploration with re-tracing incorporated, the sound design and music were excellent, 10/10!

Love the way the game plays, the art style, and the gameplay mechanics. All around an amazing game! Bravo!

Short and sweet. Very polished and clever.

Holy cow, what a game. Gorgeous, particularly the colors and lighting, music is great, gameplay is almost perfect, I only have 2 issues, when jumping off a wall, I died about 10 times each instance of me guessing how high to jump off a wall to reach a far away wall (I wish there were like a line arc showing where you end up when jumping off the wall). And I found myself sticking to the wall a whole lot when I didn't want to. But finding ingredients to create potions to unlock exploration skills is brilliant. Great work, I'll be surprised if this isn't in the top 10 or wins the jam

The game mechanics and level design are truly exceptional, a highly enjoyable experience.

wow this was just amazing and a lot of fun. It's really polished and the last rooms were also decently challenging beautiful game

really amazing game. would not be surprised if it won the game ja

That was insane! Took 15 mins to beat it, but it was well worth it! (wish there was a win screen though).

Amazing Game. Love the art and lighting effects!

Wow, This is fantastic.  I don't really have any criticism.  I can't say I'm a fan of the controls, but I know that's a personal preference. Can't really knock you for that.
