Controls: (Keyboard only for the alpha)

  • Movement: [WASD] or [ARROWS]
  • Jump and Twirl midair with [SPACEBAR].

This is a movement prototype/alpha demo made sometime in 2016 or 2017. It contains three rooms.

After the beta demo for Far Out, I decided to shift to a smaller character that was the size of a single tile. I started with a big dress because it would be easy and fun to make bouncy animations with squash-and-stretch.

This is the build that I first made and shared among friends and other indies for early feedback on the movement and twirl feel. Their feedback was invaluable throughout the entire develop of the game.

The alpha on this page became Jubilee, which is a precision-platformer collection that I released on itch.io and Steam in 2019, and was ported to consoles with a physical release by Red Art Games in 2021.

Movement feels good.  I really struggle with keyboard for platformers though.  Controller support is (of course) a must for any legit game of this style.
