Is there a guide to show me how to get this setup into my MV project, and is there a guide for the other tilesets as well?
Fantasy RPG Tileset Pack
A downloadable asset pack for Windows, macOS, and Linux
Bring your game world to life in crisp pixel art with these RPG tiles. This pack includes a wide variety of environment tiles that feel like the classic RPGs of the SNES era.

hello, I love the assets but I had one question. I'm using the regular tilesets (not RPGMAKER) and I notice that some of them have sections that are all white. Is that intentional? Or is something corrupted with the files I downloaded? The specific ones are: dessert, outside, and house assets
Those are blank spaces that can be filled in with tiles from other expansions; the winter tile expansion pack for example.
What are the odds of a black friday/holiday sale on the asset bundle? Your work/aesthetic looks like a great point to study and learn pixel art.
odds are good
Great to hear. I love your style. Looks like youve studdied and adapted Pixel Art from the golden Era of Square. I hope someday that I can make work good enough to fit in seamlessly with yours.
I am sure this is posted somewhere but is the Time Fantasy assests only available to use in RPG Maker series or can we use them in other engines, say Unity or Intersect?
if you buy it here on itch.io there are no limitations and it can be used in any engine! :) thanks
you don't know who i am, i don't know who you are, but this pack reminds me of chronofantasyquest.
Can be used to the commercial material?
Yes, here's the licence (and from below,"In short: you can do pretty much anything other than redistribute the assets directly.") https://www.gamedevmarket.net/terms-conditions/#pro-licence
Absolutely beautiful art style! Bought these awhile ago in a previous bundle, but was picking up the few newer ones not included then and wanted to post a comment on the original one too. Will happily buy any more TF packs you do!
One question though, which applies to all the Time Fantasy packs: since there is no "Lazy Tilesets" script included sadly, is there a guide to setting passability for all these sets anywhere? I looked on your site but couldn't find one, and it's a bit hit and miss setting them all up myself with guess-work. Just a screenshot of your recommended settings for each sheet would be fine.
Also, someone on another forum mentioned a multi-page pdf "tips on use" guide included with the Steam version of this pack... there's nothing in the itch.io download I bought, though. Was that a Steam exclusive or did I misunderstood what they were even talking about? :)
I don't have anything set up for the passability now. Other people are using the sets though, so you can probably find somebody willing to share a screenshot of their settings on the rpgmaker forums or on discord.
As for the PDF, if you email me I can send it to you as an attachment. There's not much to it, but I'll be happy to send it to you.
Nice classic 1980s retro look. Not really my thing but it's nice.
also curious if these come in 32x32 or how they look when resized
Do Patreons get this for free?
Where are the doors for RPG Maker MV?
does it work in gamemaker with autotile? 16x16 tiles?
This's a problem. I see auto-tiles in terrain.png with 16 * 16. But I can't find auto-tiles in either mv or vx folder.
Interested in this set and a couple others from you. What sort of license do these tiles come with and may I have it in writing?
The license is very open. Edits are welcome, no engine restrictions, and OK for commercial use. In short: you can do pretty much anything other than redistribute the assets directly.
You can find the full legal text here: https://www.gamedevmarket.net/terms-conditions/#pro-licence
I love your art style in this! I bought the recent Humble Bundle with this included and I'm having some trouble figuring out which files go into which tile slots in RPG Maker MV. Do you have any kind of guide for getting this to work properly in MV?
The RPGMaker MV formatted ones should have it in the name - TileA1 for water, A2 for ground, etc. If you follow that you should be able to match them with the right database slots.
Got this assets in the Humble Bundle and I like it. A question tho... Why there are like White Strips in some of the Tilesets?
Might be some sort of transparency error. If you send me an email with images I can take a look. Thanks
Is there a difference between this and the one on rpgmakerweb.com?
The primary difference is the license. The RPG Maker version is only for use in RPG Maker but this one has no restrictions.
Thanks for the great asset packs! Wondering if there are any of them that include UI menus or anything like that? Looking to open dialogue boxes in my game and would love them to be in this style.
I'm planning on eventually releasing window skin graphics in a future bundle or compilation. They are already made -- for now, they are available on my patreon for patrons.
I purchased using bundles.
Is it okay to develop and deploy games using this? (Unity Mobile Game)
Is there anything I need to be careful of?
If you bought this pack there on itch.io, then there's no engine restrictions and you are free to use it in a unity mobile game.
Firstly, good work on the art! As a hobbyist games programmer, artwork is probably the last thing i should do. A couple of things though:
- What's up with the white boxes? Especially on the outside tileset, the white squares are interfering with the actual tiles when dividing it with a 16x16 grid. I thought perhaps my images were corrupted but redownloading the files doesn't change anything.
- I love the water animations but the cliff tiles (lower left part of the water tileset) seem to lack the two remaining frames for the animation.
These are both things that are, more or less, easily fixable but i thought i should report them if you want to fix it.
Hey! I just wanna say that I really appreciate you mate. I'm working on a chrono trigger type of game and your art is saving me a lot of time. Thank you again man!
I think that these are... great!! I can use them any way I want to except resell them and there are so many of them and I don't have to pay hundreds of dollars for these and they look so good.
I'm already purchased this package, and now I want to purchase all exclude this one? How can I get it?
I don't think there's a way to exclude a pack from the bundle. But right now since it's on sale it's still a better price than buying all the others individually!
I bought this the other day, and wondering if the available tiles are the same across each version? The base tileset seems to have more water and inside items than the RPG Maker stuff. Also I saw some more inside-house tile options in the base set than the RPG Maker sizes.
Some graphics didn't fit on the RPG Maker sheets because of the size limitations, so the general sheets might have some extra stuff. If you're using RPG Maker, you're welcome to edit these pieces into the RPG Maker-compatible sets.
Very beatiful tileset!!! I have one question: will this art set work in RPG Maker 2k3? Thanks!
Yes but you might need to re-arrange the graphics a bit. The sizes are correct, the sets just aren't formatted for it.
Hey bro, just ordered your tileset, its nice, but why is there white blocks??
I just have to say this. Your packs look amazing. They offer so much diversity and there's nobody out there with a similar pack that offers so much diversity, while also looking very good. Your characters look good too. Although here is the issue: i can't use them for anything really (except just civilians). No combat animations. That's my only issue with this otherwise amazing pack. I'd buy all of them, which would give me the possibility to build an amazing and diverse world, but i have nothing to populate it with. I can't think of a good rpg without combat. Also, we have an executioner sprite, with no execute animation. Is he supposed to just stand around and look scary? And i really thought about just building the world with your pack and get characters elsewhere, but i can't find any character packs that at least resemble your art style. Are you planning on animating characters more? and if so? when can we expect the update?
RPG-style combat animations are done! They'll be released in a few weeks!
As for other extra animations for NPCs like the executioner, good idea for a mini-expansion. Or even as some more free updated or through Patreon!
Thanks so much! I won't let you down!
Great news! I can't wait to see them in action. Be sure to include someone to be executed as well , maybe even a severed head. Would be very helpful if you're trying to go for an opressive king that publicly executes people kind of theme.
I am at the exact same boat as matei here and your response made my day. If I by your pack today will I get access to your animations on release? Or will they be sold separately and if so any hint on a price for it? I am going to by the fantasy pack either way it is simply the best thing out there and the runner ups aren't even close, but I want to know if I need to wait a few weeks for you to release the attack animations or if I get them anyways.
Oh and to clarify, your rpg style combat animations are gonna be for your existing character / monster packs yes?
Hi, i'd like to look at including your assets in a project but I need to clarify a few things. Can you please provide me with an email address - my contact is firstname.lastname@example.org
Hello, I want to buy all of your work on 1 big package. Is there one you have available with a discount? I'm working on a non-existent budget.
You can find the bundle here. https://itch.io/s/10009/time-fantasy-rpg-asset-bundle
Hi! I teach game development for some students. I really would like to teach how to make a RPG game to them. I was thinking about buy your bundle and use it to teach my students. Usually I give the assets to them, so they can practice the lessons. Am I allowed to do that with this art? They will only use to practice. I would inform them to do not release a game without buy this art before.
If it's only for practice and they're not releasing anything, that's fine by me! Have fun and good luck!
I'm new to this site. Question. If I purchase the bundle, will I be able to use this art within Game maker and sell my game? Are there any obligations?
Yes, that is fine! You can sell anything made with my graphics.
The furniture like chairs or tables has diferent positions or only have 1 position?
Tables can be expanded in both directions (horizontal/vertical) and the chairs are all four: north/south/east/west.
Hi finalbossblues, could I also use this pack for making an RPG game w/ Unity? Please reply as soon as possible, thank you!
Reason why I am asking is because, I wouldn't want to buy them if the people at RPG MAKER MV have rights to it! Because I would like to use Unity to make my game! I'm not sure whether there is a conflict or not! Please reply when you can, thank you and have a great day!
Yes! If you buy the pack here on itch you can use them in unity.
Only if you buy them on the official RPGMaker site are they restricted to RPGMaker with a different license.
Thanks! Good luck!
Hey man, can you make a time fantasy pack for rpg maker mv? would definitely buy it if you did. Your style is really nice!
This works in RMMV. It should include versions for VX and MV. If it's missing send me an email. Thankx
Thank you very much for your quick reply. Sorry, I am new to game development, and I love your style. Could I possibly use this for Unity? currently using a software called Tiled, and want to use your assets for it! :) Also, will you be creating any expansion packs at all? Hopefully you will think about it! Also, how did you get started on pixel art!? It just looks neat to try and do!
too bad there is only a paypal option was going to buy a bunch of your stuff.
I really dig your art style man :)
You have done here an amazing work, thank you.
32x32 would be nice then I don't have to do it. :D
And do you work on some expansion packs, I really like your work and I would be really happy if I could buy some more stuff. (Maybe more different trees or more objects indoor and outdoor) ;)
Some of the RPGMAKER formatted versions use 32x32 versions of the tiles. Other than that, it's pretty fast to upscale them by 200%. Just keep "nearest neighbor" checked so the pixels don't blur.
As for expansions, you can expect more soon. :~)
This work is awesome! Congrats!
Just a note:
The file "inside_ceilingborders_updated.png" miss the autotile correction. It should be a 3x3 grid instead of the RPGMaker autotile 2x2 grid.
